Data skills are now asked for well beyond analyst job titles, and Singapore has a wide spread of ways to learn them, from a weekend of SQL and Tableau to a year-long part-time diploma in Python and machine learning. This list covers eight providers whose own websites describe data science or data analytics training for adults, including polytechnic, university and private options. Read each write-up for what the provider says it teaches and how it delivers lessons, then check current schedules, entry requirements and funding on its site. Funding is shown only as each provider states it, and fees are left out because they change between intakes.

1. Heicoders Academy

Heicoders Academy runs data courses from a base on Kreta Ayer Road. Its Data Analytics Course with SQL and Tableau, known as DA100, is described as beginner-friendly, needing no prior coding, and is built around seven lessons covering SQL, Tableau dashboards, geospatial visuals, forecasting and a portfolio capstone. The academy says the course carries a WSQ certificate and can be taken online or in person, on weekday or weekend cohorts. For learners who want Python, it also lists AI100, Python Programming and Data Visualisation, followed by an Applied Machine Learning course. Its pages say eligible learners may receive up to 70 percent funding, so confirm your own eligibility and the live class dates with the academy before booking.

2. Vertical Institute

Vertical Institute teaches from the Lifelong Learning Institute in Eunos and describes its Data Analytics Course as aimed at beginners. Its own guide to data analytics courses says the programme is delivered online over Zoom across seven lessons of three hours each, covering Excel, SQL and Tableau, and ends with a real-world project. The institute also lists an advanced data analytics course and a separate course on Data Analytics Using Power BI, which suits learners whose workplace already runs on Microsoft tools. It states that SkillsFuture Credits can apply for eligible Singaporeans aged 25 and above, and that IBF and union support schemes may also be available. Check the current funding terms on its site.

3. SMU Academy

SMU Academy is the continuing-education arm of Singapore Management University, and its data science page groups courses by how deep you want to go. Entry points it lists include Data Analytics at Work 101 and a Python-powered data analysis in Excel course that it says needs no programming background. Longer routes include an Advanced Certificate in Applied Data Science and Analytics, an Advanced Certificate in Business Analytics for Data-Driven Decision Making with Python, and an Industry Graduate Diploma in Python Programming and Machine Learning. The academy says its courses are built as progressive modules, and that Singaporeans can use SWDA subsidies and credits against fees. Its contact page offers an enquiry form and a helpdesk on campus.

4. Singapore Polytechnic (PACE Academy)

Singapore Polytechnic's continuing-education arm offers a Specialist Diploma in Data Science (Data Analytics) aimed at working adults. Its course page describes foundations in statistics, Python programming, data mining and analytics, and says the programme is meant for graduates, IT professionals and mid-career switchers who want to turn raw data into business insight. Classes are listed as two evenings a week, Tuesday and Thursday from 6.30pm to 9.30pm, totalling 240 hours over about a year, which fits people who keep a full-time job. The polytechnic also lists sibling specialist diplomas in data engineering, artificial intelligence and predictive analytics, so learners can choose a different path later. Check entry requirements and fee support on the course page.

5. Ngee Ann Polytechnic CET Academy

Ngee Ann Polytechnic's continuing-education unit lists a Specialist Diploma in Data Analytics, run by its School of InfoComm Technology as a one-year part-time course. Its page describes four modules of 75 hours each: Programming for Analytics using Python, Data Visualisation and Storytelling, Data Preparation and Modelling, and Machine Learning. Classes are listed on Monday and Thursday evenings in a mix of classroom and synchronous e-learning. Entry is stated as a local polytechnic diploma, a recognised degree, or at least a year of relevant work experience, and learners are asked to bring a laptop that meets published specifications. The page says the modules are grouped into two post-diploma certificates, with fees and subsidies set out on the page.

6. NUS-ISS

NUS-ISS, the Institute of Systems Science at the National University of Singapore, has a data science track within its executive education catalogue. Its course pages list short, multi-day courses such as Predictive Analytics, Data Storytelling, Data Management for Analytics and Customer Analytics. The Predictive Analytics page, for example, describes a five-day course with workshops in R or Python, and says participants are expected to have completed a statistics course beforehand or send their background for review. The same track feeds into graduate certificates in analytics, so individual courses can build towards a longer qualification. This suits working professionals who want a more technical, university-run path. Check each course page for current dates, prerequisites and funding.

7. Inspizone

Inspizone Academy trains from International Plaza and is a practical pick for learners who want Microsoft-flavoured analytics. Its Data Analysis using Microsoft Power BI course is listed as a two-day, in-person classroom programme running from 9.30am to 5.30pm. Beyond that, its site lists related courses including WSQ Data Analytics using Power BI, WSQ Data Analytics Using Power Query and Power Pivot, Data Analytics Using Python and Big Data Analysis with Python, giving a route from spreadsheet-based reporting towards scripting. Its Power BI page mentions the NTUC union training assistance programme as one way members may offset fees, and its footer shows a 2026 copyright. Confirm current schedules and funding directly with the academy before you register.

8. Institute of Data (Singapore)

Institute of Data lists a Data Science and Artificial Intelligence Program on its Singapore site, offered in both full-time and part-time formats, alongside a shorter Practical AI Professional Certificate. The institute says its intensive programs are designed to be completed in three to six months, totalling more than 400 training and project hours, and that an industry certification is provided. It describes delivery as remote or in person, and its About page lists a Singapore office and a private education institute campus address. Rather than publishing a self-serve checkout, the site encourages visitors to schedule a call with a career consultant to discuss course options. This option suits career changers who want a structured, longer bootcamp-style route, so ask what the programme covers.

How to choose

  • Decide whether you need data analytics or full data science. Analytics courses usually centre on SQL, spreadsheets and dashboards in Tableau or Power BI, while data science adds Python, statistics and machine learning. Check each outline for the tools named, and match them to the job ads or workplace systems you actually want to use.
  • Match the format to your schedule. Some providers run a few weekend or weekday sessions, others run evening classes for a year, and bootcamp-style programmes run for months. Look at the stated hours, class days and delivery mode, and be honest about how much time you can protect outside class for practice and projects.
  • Check prerequisites before you enrol. Short courses may need only basic digital skills, while diplomas often ask for a degree, a polytechnic diploma or work experience, and some advanced courses expect earlier statistics. Read the entry requirements on the provider's page, and ask for a sample outline if you are unsure you meet them.
  • Treat funding claims as something to confirm, not assume. Providers describe SkillsFuture credit, subsidies, union support and employer funding differently, and eligibility depends on age, citizenship and the specific course reference. Ask for the current figures in writing, and check the official course listing so you know what you will personally pay.
  • Look for evidence that the course ends in something you can show. A capstone, a portfolio project or a recognised certificate gives you material for interviews, while a lecture-only course may not. Ask what the project involves, who marks it, and whether past learners' work is shown, then compare that across two or three providers.
