Plumbers in Singapore: Four Companies Compared on Published Evidence
There is no official list of plumbing companies in Singapore, and almost none of them publish a price. We researched ten and compared the four whose published evidence — who they are, what they do, how they quote and what they guarantee — could be compared fairly.

When a pipe starts leaking, most people call the first plumber they can find and hope. That is understandable. It is also how you end up agreeing to a price you cannot sanity-check for work you cannot evaluate.
There is no official list of plumbing companies in Singapore. PUB licenses individual plumbers — and since April 2018 it has been an offence to engage an unlicensed one for regulated water and sanitary work — but it does not license firms. BCA keeps a contractor register for plumbing and sanitary works, and when we checked, almost none of the companies a household would actually call were on it. So rather than claim to have surveyed a market nobody can list, we found companies four ways, researched ten of them closely, and compared the four whose published evidence could be compared fairly.
One thing we expected to compare and could not is price. Only two of the ten publish any figure at all, both as a bare "from" with nothing attached to say what it covers — and one company’s own price-list page turns out to have no prices on it. So nothing below calls anyone cheap. What we compared instead is what each company puts in writing: who they are, what they say they do, how they say a price will be reached, and what they promise if the work fails.
We have not used any of these companies, called them, or asked any of them for a quote.

How we chose
Companies were scored on six criteria fixed before any scoring began: identity verifiability (30%), regulatory disclosure (20%), service scope documentation (20%), after-service terms (15%), quotation practice (10%) and contact accessibility (5%). Price is not a criterion, because the published figures are not comparable. Regulatory disclosure measures how clearly a company describes its licensed-plumber arrangements — not whether it holds a licence, which we could not verify, and not the quality of its work. BCA registration is recorded where held and is never scored.
No complete authoritative register of consumer plumbing companies in Singapore was identified, so no market size is claimed. Candidates were found through four recorded routes; 22 consumer-facing companies were identified and 10 were researched in depth on 21 September 2026. Four are compared here. Five did not meet the evidence and identity standard: two had websites we could not reach, and three publish no consumer-facing material — including one that turned out to be a construction company rather than a plumbing service. A sixth, Everyworks, is not listed separately because Everyworks publishes Mr Plumber as one of its own brands and the two share a booking number, so listing both would offer the same operation twice. None of that is a judgement about anyone’s work. PUB’s public directory of Licensed Plumbers returned no results for any query on that date, so where a company publishes a licence number we report it as the company’s own statement, which we could not independently check.

Active Plumbing publishes the two things this trade usually leaves vague: what it will do before quoting, and what happens afterwards. It quotes after an on-site assessment rather than over the phone, and every job carries a 180-day warranty — the longest here, and the only one stated without qualifying words attached to it.

Number 2: Wong Plumber
The only company in this comparison that prints its own registration number on its own website. In a trade where most sites say nothing at all about the entity behind them, being able to check who you are dealing with without leaving the page is unusual.

Number 3: Mr Plumber
The only company here on BCA’s contractor register for plumbing and sanitary works, and the only one whose published hours match its availability claim: 24 hours, seven days. What it does not publish is what a job costs, or what its warranty actually covers.

Number 4: Direct Plumber
Direct Plumber gives the clearest account of what happens before you agree to anything, and it is the only company here whose own site names the legal entity behind it. The warranty is where it gets vaguer: 30 to 90 days, on "selected" work that is never identified.
