Aircon Servicing in Singapore: Six Companies Compared on Published Evidence

There is no official register of who services air conditioners in Singapore. We found companies four ways, researched twelve, and compared the six whose published evidence could be compared fairly — what they charge, under what conditions, and what they promise if the work fails.

Aircon servicing is one of the few home services in Singapore where companies publish their prices, and one where those prices are almost impossible to compare. One company’s cheapest rate needs five units. Another’s needs you to have bought the system from them. Most do not say whether GST is included.

There is also no official list of who does this work. BCA registers contractors for air-conditioning works, and four of the companies below are on that register — but when we checked the companies Singaporeans actually use, most were absent from it entirely. So rather than claim to have surveyed a market nobody can enumerate, we did something narrower and are telling you exactly what: we found companies through four documented routes, researched twelve of them in depth, and compared the six whose published evidence could be compared fairly.

What we compared is what each company puts in writing — who they are, what they say they do, what they charge and under what conditions, and what they promise if the work fails. We have not used any of these companies, called them, or asked any of them for a quote. This is a comparison of published evidence, not of workmanship, and the order below reflects that and nothing else.

Quick comparison

  • Best for
Knowing the price before a technician is in the flat
    Price
Servicing $45 for one unit rising to $90 for four, and from $20 per unit at five or more. Chemical wash $80 per unit, overhaul from $100, repair diagnosis $80, installation from $1,050, annual contract $160. The company states that prices exclude 9% GST.
  • Best for
Households most worried about the fault coming back
    Price
General servicing is quoted three ways on the same site: from $30 per unit, a $25 promotional rate, and a $40–$60 range. We could not establish which applies to a given booking. Chemical wash $70–$150 depending on system type; overhaul from $150. GST treatment is not stated.
  • Best for
Routine servicing where the unit count is known in advance
    Price
General servicing $65–$125 as a one-off and $240–$450 on a quarterly contract, banded by unit count from one to six. A $90 rate for four units is marked first-time customers only. Chemical wash, overhaul, repair and gas top-up are described but not priced. GST treatment is not stated.
  • Best for
Single-visit servicing where a flat per-unit price is easier to reason about
    Price
$40 per unit to service, $66 for steam cleaning and $90 for a chemical wash, each priced per unit. A quarterly contract is advertised from $9.90 per unit; the site does not explain how that relates to the $40 single-visit price. Installation packages run $1,998–$4,198 by brand and system size. GST treatment is not stated.
  • Best for
Households who bought their system from Gain City and want it maintained under contract
    Price
Ad-hoc servicing is $50 for the first fan coil unit and $30 for each additional unit, for systems below 24,000 BTU. Packages run from $80 for a System 1 with two visits to $1,224 for a System 5 over three years — but apply only to residential systems bought from Gain City, and are not transferable. Chemical wash and condenser servicing are not priced. GST treatment is not stated.
  • Best for
Late bookings — the published hours run to 10pm daily
    Price
Servicing $55 for one unit rising to $90 for four. Chemical wash from $110, overhaul from $150, gas top-up from $90 and condenser cleaning from $50 — each open-ended, with no upper figure or conditions given. GST treatment is not stated.

How we chose

Companies were scored on five criteria fixed before any scoring began: identity verifiability (30%), residential service clarity (10%), service and price documentation (35%), after-service terms (15%) and contact accessibility (10%). Price level is not a criterion, because the published figures are not comparable — they assume different unit counts, different conditions and different GST treatment. BCA registration is recorded where held and is not scored; no company is penalised for being absent from a register most of this market is absent from.

No complete authoritative register of consumer aircon servicing companies in Singapore was identified, so no market size is claimed. Candidates were found through four recorded routes: BCA’s contractor register, consumer search, third-party Singapore listings, and LocalRank’s own research assets. Twelve companies were researched in depth on 21 September 2026. Six met the evidence and identity thresholds for this edition; six did not, and the reason is recorded against each. Exclusion reflects what could be compared, not a judgement about anyone’s workmanship.

Lion City publishes more of what a household actually needs before booking than any other company we looked at. Its registration number, its registered name and a street address all appear on its own site; its price list runs from one unit to five or more; and it is the only company in this comparison that says whether GST is included. In a trade where that is usually left unsaid, it is the difference between a price and a guess.

Best for
  • Knowing the price before a technician is in the flat
  • Households comparing costs across several units
  • Readers who want to check who they are dealing with
Why we selected it

Identity is established from the company’s own evidence rather than ours: UEN 201633902C, the registered entity name and a street address, with nothing contradicting them. Its stated start date is also the only one in this comparison consistent with its own registration number. Seven services are priced, each against a named service with the number of units it assumes.

Strengths
  • Registration number, entity name and address all published on its own site
  • The only company here that states GST treatment — prices exclude 9%
  • Seven services priced, each with the unit basis stated
  • Servicing, chemical wash, overhaul, repair, gas and installation described separately
Limitations
  • No warranty is published for general servicing; the stated warranties cover installation and repair only
  • No email address, WhatsApp number or opening hours found
  • The claim of more than 2,000 reviews is the company’s own; we did not verify it and it is not part of this comparison

SJR has the clearest promise in this comparison about what happens when a job goes wrong, and the least clear about what it will cost. The warranty is specific to the point of naming the charges it will not make. The same site then gives three different prices for general servicing.

Best for
  • Households most worried about the fault coming back
  • Evening and weekend appointments
  • Readers who want the servicing company named on a government register
Why we selected it

Its registration number is published and matches BCA’s contractor register exactly, which is the strongest identity corroboration available short of the company publishing everything. Five service types are described and four are priced. The after-service terms are the most specific we found in this category.

Strengths
  • A 90-day workmanship warranty with the remedy spelled out: same fault, free return visit, no labour fee, no transport charge
  • Registration number published and matching BCA’s contractor register exactly
  • Registered with BCA under workhead ME01, current to July 2027
  • Phone, email, address and daily 9am–10pm hours all published
Limitations
  • Three different figures for general servicing appear on the same site — "from $30", a $25 promotion and a stated $40–$60 range — and we could not establish which applies
  • GST treatment is not stated
  • The address on the site differs from the address on the register, and we could not reconcile the two

338 describes more of the work than anyone else here — all six service types, each set out separately — and then prices one of them. If general servicing is what you want, the bands by unit count are clear enough to budget from. If you want a chemical wash, you will have to ask.

Best for
  • Routine servicing where the unit count is known in advance
  • Households wanting one company across several kinds of work
  • Booking by WhatsApp in the evening
Why we selected it

Registration number published and matching BCA’s register. The widest documented service scope in the comparison, and general servicing priced in bands by unit count with a promotional rate marked as promotional rather than presented as the standard price.

Strengths
  • All six service types described distinctly — the widest scope in this comparison
  • General servicing priced in bands from one to six units, one-off and on a quarterly contract
  • The four-unit promotional rate is marked first-time customers only rather than shown as the standard price
  • Registration number published and matching BCA’s register; registered under ME01, current to December 2027
  • Phone, WhatsApp, email and daily 9am–9pm hours
Limitations
  • Only general servicing is priced; chemical wash, overhaul, repair and gas top-up are described but not costed
  • The warranty is one month and covers leaks after servicing only — the shortest and narrowest here
  • GST treatment is not stated

Three flat per-unit prices for the three things most households buy, each attached to a described job. Then a warranty summarised in four words. "Work backed by warranty" does not say for how long, or against what.

Best for
  • Single-visit servicing where a flat per-unit price is easier to reason about
  • Households wanting steam cleaning as a distinct option
  • Weekday bookings within stated office hours
Why we selected it

Registration number published and matching BCA’s register. Flat per-unit pricing for servicing, steam cleaning and chemical wash, with the servicing scope itemised so the figure is attached to a described piece of work rather than floating free.

Strengths
  • Flat per-unit prices for the three services most households buy: $40 servicing, $66 steam cleaning, $90 chemical wash
  • The servicing scope is itemised, so the $40 attaches to a described job
  • Registration number published and matching BCA’s register; registered under ME01, current to July 2027
  • Phone, WhatsApp, email and stated weekday and Saturday hours
Limitations
  • The servicing warranty is stated only as "work backed by warranty", with no duration and no coverage
  • A quarterly rate of "from $9.90 per unit" sits alongside the $40 single-visit price with no explanation of how they relate
  • "Certified Company" appears without naming a certifying body, so there is nothing to check
  • GST treatment is not stated

An electronics retailer that also services air conditioners, and the terms read like a retailer’s. The package pricing is the most carefully conditioned in this comparison — and most of those conditions narrow who can buy it. The servicing packages are for systems bought from Gain City.

Best for
  • Households who bought their system from Gain City and want it maintained under contract
  • Multi-year servicing planned in advance
  • Systems of 24,000 BTU and below
Why we selected it

The entity is established from BCA’s register, where it holds three workheads at grade L5 — the highest grade of any company here. Its ad-hoc and package pricing is set out in full, and the conditions attached to it are stated openly rather than discovered at booking.

Strengths
  • Ad-hoc pricing stated plainly: $50 for the first fan coil unit, $30 for each one after
  • A full package matrix by system size and visit count, running to three years
  • The conditions are stated rather than hidden: residential use only, 24,000 BTU and below, not transferable
  • Chemical wash is explicitly left unpriced as varying by model, rather than given a figure that would not hold
  • Registered with BCA under ME01, ME02 and ME05 at grade L5 — the highest grade in this comparison
Limitations
  • The servicing packages apply only to systems purchased from Gain City, which excludes most households looking for a servicing company
  • No warranty terms are published for servicing
  • A telephone number is the only contact route on the servicing page, with no hours and no email
  • The registration number is not published on the site; we established the entity from BCA’s register instead
  • The site describes "BCA-certified technicians". What we verified is that the firm holds BCA contractor registration; BCA registers firms under workheads and does not certify individual technicians
• Late bookings — the published hours run to 10pm daily
  • Households who want to reach a company several ways
  • Servicing of one to four units
Why we selected it

Six service types described distinctly and five priced, with servicing banded by unit count. Among the most contactable companies in the comparison, with four published routes and daily hours.

Strengths
  • Six service types described distinctly
  • Servicing priced by unit count from one to four
  • Phone, WhatsApp, email and daily 8am–10pm hours
  • Nineteen service areas listed, with no distance surcharge stated
Limitations
  • No warranty, guarantee or return-visit term is published anywhere on the site
  • Four of the five prices are open-ended — "from $110", "from $150" — with no upper figure and no conditions
  • The registration number published on the site matches no register entry we could find, so we could not corroborate the entity independently
  • GST treatment is not stated

Update history
  • UpdateFirst edition. Twelve companies were researched in depth; six are compared here. Two companies with otherwise strong published evidence were held back: one because the operating legal entity behind the consumer-facing business could not be established, and one because too little of its published evidence was comparable. Neither decision is a judgement about the quality of their work, and both will be revisited when the evidence changes.
