Writing a will is one of those tasks that's easy to keep putting off, yet it decides who looks after your children, who receives what, and who is left to sort things out if you don't. Singapore's will-writing market includes traditional law firms, dedicated will-writing companies staffed by trained consultants rather than lawyers, and online platforms you can use from home. The services below cover will drafting and, where offered, Lasting Power of Attorney, trusts and will custody. This isn't legal advice — treat it as a shortlist to compare, and confirm who actually drafts your will, and what's included, before you commit.

1. PKWA Law

PKWA Law is an established Singapore law practice with a dedicated wills and probate team based at HDB Hub in Toa Payoh. The firm says every will is prepared and reviewed by a lawyer rather than a will-writing consultant, and its scope covers straightforward and more complex wills, Lasting Power of Attorney, testamentary (will) trusts for a minor child's inheritance, CPF nomination, and deposit of the signed will with the Singapore Academy of Law's Wills Registry. PKWA describes itself as a full-service family law firm, so wills sit alongside divorce, probate and estate administration work under one roof, and it says it does not sell insurance or investment products alongside its legal advice.

2. IRB Law LLP

IRB Law LLP is a Singapore law firm with its main office in Mountbatten and several other neighbourhood offices, founded by managing partner Mohamed Baiross. Its wills team says all drafting is handled by lawyers rather than external consultants, covering single and mirror wills, Lasting Power of Attorney, and later probate, letters of administration or deputyship applications if these become necessary. The firm offers will custody and safekeeping, and says it can arrange consultations at a client's home or in hospital for those unable to travel to an office. IRB positions will writing as one part of a broader private-client and litigation practice rather than a standalone product sold on its own.

3. Gloria James-Civetta & Co (GJC Law)

Gloria James-Civetta & Co, known as GJC Law, is a Singapore law firm based at Samsung Hub on Church Street, with its private client practice headed by Sandra Ong. The firm says it strongly advises clients to have a lawyer draft their will rather than attempt a DIY version, reflecting its general approach to estate work. Alongside will drafting, GJC Law's estate practice covers probate, letters of administration and Lasting Power of Attorney, handled by its own lawyers rather than non-legal consultants. The firm describes itself as experienced with complex and cross-border estates as well as straightforward wills, and treats the work as part of a broader private-client and family law practice rather than a one-off transaction.

4. Emerald Law LLC

Emerald Law LLC is a Singapore law firm, formerly known as B Rao & K.S Rajah, based on Shenton Way. It runs a dedicated Syariah law practice for Muslim clients, with lawyers the firm describes as specialising in Wasiat (the Islamic will) and Hibah (lifetime gifting), and who also advise on Faraid, the Islamic inheritance framework, and on Syariah-compliant probate or letters of administration. Because a Wasiat has to work within Faraid's fixed shares rather than override them, the firm positions this as an area that benefits from lawyers who handle it specifically rather than general will drafting. Emerald Law also covers conventional, non-Syariah wills and other private-client work through its broader legal practice.

5. SimplyWills Singapore

SimplyWills Singapore is a dedicated will-writing company rather than a law firm, operating from Havelock Road since 2006. It says wills are prepared by its own trained "Will Planners" rather than lawyers, who walk clients through drafting a will that meets Singapore's legal requirements, and it separately offers a will safekeeping and custody service. The company says it has written tens of thousands of wills and safekept thousands more over its history, and runs public talks and courses on will writing and estate planning. Its site does not advertise Lasting Power of Attorney or trust drafting as services, so anyone needing an LPA or a more elaborate trust structure would need to arrange that separately.

6. NobleWills

NobleWills is an online will-writing platform serving Singapore alongside other markets, founded by a Hong Kong-qualified lawyer working with a software engineer. Its Singapore offering runs on a tiered model: a self-guided online will that the company says gets a human consistency check, a mid-tier option with specialist review, and a premium service with one-to-one guidance from an estate planning specialist through the whole process. Documents are localised to Singapore law, and the platform also offers related tools such as temporary guardianship deeds and secure document storage. It does not appear to offer trust drafting or CPF nomination directly, and has no walk-in Singapore office, so all engagement happens online.

7. Wills & Probate

Wills & Probate Pte Ltd is a dedicated will-writing company operating from the Lifelong Learning Institute building in Eunos since 2014. Its registered business activity is management consultancy rather than legal practice, and it focuses on will-writing services alongside broader estate planning advice, plus help with Grant of Probate applications for named executors and Letters of Administration for families where someone has died without a will. The company says its wills are prepared in line with Singapore's Wills Act. Its site does not spell out whether the staff drafting wills are lawyers or non-legal consultants, and does not advertise Lasting Power of Attorney or trust services, so readers with more complex needs should ask directly what is covered.

8. Populus Law Corporation

Populus Law Corporation is a Singapore law firm registered since 2018 and based on Havelock Road, with family lawyer Javern Sim named on its wills and probate pages. The firm says a lawyer handles will drafting so that asset distribution, executor appointments and guardianship wishes are properly documented and advised on, rather than filled in from a template. Its estate work sits alongside divorce and other family law matters, and the firm also assists with will reviews and updates as clients' circumstances change over time. Populus Law's public pages focus on will drafting itself rather than detailing Lasting Power of Attorney or trust structures, so clients with those additional needs should confirm scope directly with the firm.

9. WeWills Legacy

WeWills Legacy Pte Ltd is a will-writing company registered in Singapore since 2022 and based on Shenton Way, built around bringing the service to the client rather than the other way round. It says it will send staff to a client's home at no extra charge to go through the will and provide the required witnesses on site, and its stated scope covers will writing, Lasting Power of Attorney, will custody, and estate planning and administration support, with trusts mentioned alongside these. The company also markets a corporate package aimed at employers wanting to offer will writing as an employee benefit. Its materials don't specify whether wills are drafted by lawyers or by non-legal consultants, so that's worth asking directly.

10. PreceptsGroup

PreceptsGroup International, previously known as the Rockwills Singapore Group of Companies, is a long-running estate and succession planning group based at International Plaza on Anson Road. Rather than lawyers, it says wills are handled by in-house "Estate & Succession Practitioners", a role the group runs its own accreditation programme for, and its scope runs from will writing and will custody through to trust structures (including standby and digital trusts), Lasting Power of Attorney and corporate trustee services via its Precepts Trustee arm. The group positions itself as covering succession planning end-to-end under one roof, from drafting through to eventual estate administration, rather than treating the will as a single standalone document.

How to choose

  • Decide whether you want a lawyer or a will-writing consultant to draft your will. A lawyer typically costs more but can advise on tricky situations such as blended families, overseas assets or business shares, while a trained consultant at a dedicated will-writing firm may suit a simple, single-jurisdiction estate. Ask directly who at the firm actually prepares your document.
  • Check whether you also need a Lasting Power of Attorney. A will only takes effect after death and says nothing about who manages your affairs if you lose mental capacity while still alive — that's what an LPA covers, and not every will-writing provider on this list offers it in-house.
  • Think about whether a trust is worth adding, for example to hold a minor child's inheritance until a chosen age, provide for a beneficiary with special needs, or structure how a blended family's assets are split. Trust drafting is more specialised than a basic will, so ask whether it's handled in-house or referred out.
  • Ask how the will is stored and whether it will be registered with the Singapore Academy of Law's Wills Registry, so your executor can actually find it when the time comes. A carefully drafted will that nobody can locate after you die causes much the same problem you were trying to avoid.
  • Confirm scope and cost directly with the provider before committing, since what counts as a "simple" will, what's included as standard, and whether CPF nomination or witnessing is bundled in varies by firm. Revisit your will after marriage, divorce, a new child or a major change in assets, since an old will doesn't update itself.
