Singapore has become a genuine regional hub for buying, storing and selling physical gold and silver, thanks to tax rules that exempt qualifying investment-grade bullion from GST and a cluster of dealers ranging from long-established bullion houses to newer vault specialists and the state mint's own bullion brand. The eleven dealers below sell bars and coins, and most also offer storage and buyback, but none of them are covered here on price, since spot prices and premiums move constantly. This is a shortlist to research further, not investment advice - verify each dealer's current registration, products and terms directly before buying, storing or selling anything.

1. BullionStar

BullionStar describes itself as Southeast Asia's leading bullion dealer, running a walk-in storefront at 45 New Bridge Road, opposite Clarke Quay MRT, where no appointment is needed. It sells gold, silver, platinum and palladium bars and coins from mints and refiners including PAMP, Argor-Heraeus, the Perth Mint and the Royal Canadian Mint. Buyers can arrange vault storage in Singapore or, for selected products, in the United States and New Zealand, and the company buys back bullion it has sold. As one of Singapore's most established and widely known specialist dealers, it is a common first stop for newcomers, though its buy-back and spread terms are worth comparing against other dealers before committing to a specific bar or coin.

2. Silver Bullion

Silver Bullion runs a walk-in retail shop at Millenia Walk, open daily with no appointment needed for buying, selling or collecting bullion, alongside its Safe House vault within The Reserve at Changi Business Park. The company has built its reputation primarily around silver and vault storage rather than gold alone, and says its Main Silver Vault has the capacity to hold more than 30% of a year's global silver production. It also says it carries vault insurance cover well over a billion Singapore dollars, and runs a collateralised lending arm that lets bullion in storage be used to secure a loan. It suits buyers who want silver in bulk, or who value secure, tax-free storage as much as the metal itself.

3. GoldSilver Central

GoldSilver Central has operated from 3 Pickering Street, Nankin Row, since 2011, and is a member of the Singapore Bullion Market Association. It says it holds authorised distributorship for Perth Mint products and is an authorised dealer for the Perth Mint's Depository Online and Certificate programmes, alongside its own physical gold, silver and platinum bars and coins. Storage is offered through its Bullion Storage Program at the Singapore Freeport, and its GSC Live! platform lets registered clients trade holdings online in Singapore or US dollars outside the shop's opening hours. The mix of a walkable Chinatown-fringe shopfront with an online trading account makes it a practical middle ground between a pure retail counter and a fully online dealer.

4. Indigo Precious Metals

Indigo Precious Metals is a specialist dealer founded in 2014 that has built its business specifically around tax-free, offshore-vaulted storage for gold, silver, platinum and palladium, alongside outright sales of bars and coins. It works with refiners on the LBMA and LPPM Good Delivery lists and with sovereign mints such as the Royal Mint, the Royal Australian Mint and the Austrian Mint, and it says its founder is one of only two LBMA-affiliated bullion figures based in Singapore. The firm operates from Bukit Pasoh Road in the Chinatown conservation area, with a further presence in the UK and Malaysia. It suits buyers whose main concern is long-term, secure storage rather than a walk-in shopping experience.

5. J. Rotbart & Co

J. Rotbart & Co is a family-owned bullion house headquartered in Hong Kong since 2016, with a Singapore office at Six Battery Road that has been a Singapore Bullion Market Association member since 2017. It deals in gold, silver, platinum and palladium for both individual and institutional clients, and offers secure storage in allocated and segregated vaults, including at Le Freeport, plus lending against bullion already held with the firm. Its buyback service covers bullion bought from Rotbart as well as bars and coins bought elsewhere, subject to its own authentication. The firm leans towards larger, higher-value transactions and dedicated portfolio consultations rather than casual walk-in purchases, so it suits buyers moving significant sums rather than a first small coin.

6. LPM Singapore

LPM Singapore is the local retail arm of LPM Group, a Hong Kong-headquartered precious metals dealer that is itself a subsidiary of the US-listed A-Mark Precious Metals. It opened its Singapore retail store at ABI Plaza on Keppel Road in 2024, selling gold, silver, platinum and palladium bars and coins alongside a round-the-clock online trading account, plus storage and a buyback programme. Backing from a Nasdaq-listed parent gives it a level of corporate scale that most Singapore-based dealers on this list do not have, though its local retail presence is newer than that of the longer-established Singapore houses. It suits buyers who want an internationally backed name with both an online account and a physical counter to visit.

7. Global City Bullion

Global City Bullion is a family-run dealer that set up formally in 2021, though it says its background in goldsmithing, numismatics and bullion trading goes back to the 1960s. It sells LBMA Good Delivery gold, silver and platinum bars and coins from refiners such as PAMP, Argor-Heraeus, Metalor, Heraeus and Valcambi, and is registered with the Ministry of Law as both a precious stones and metals dealer and a secondhand goods dealer. Purchases are by appointment at its Raffles Place office, where the company says it tests each item for authenticity in front of the customer before handover. It also buys back bullion and old gold. The appointment-only format suits buyers happy to arrange a visit rather than walk in off the street.

8. Big Bullion

Big Bullion is a newer, Ministry of Law-licensed precious metals dealer operating from Golden Mile Tower on Beach Road, selling 999 gold and silver bars and coins from mints and refiners including PAMP Suisse, Argor-Heraeus, Metalor, the Royal Mint and the Perth Mint. It says every item is checked with a precious-metal verifier and XRF analyser before it leaves the shop, and offers insured door-to-door delivery across Singapore, typically within 48 hours of purchase, rather than an in-house vault. The company also states it guarantees to buy back what it sells at prevailing spot-linked rates. As a recent entrant, it has a shorter track record than the older houses on this list, so it is worth extra diligence before a large purchase.

9. Singapore Gold

Singapore Gold is the trading name of Clasic Bullion Jewellery, a company registered in Singapore since 2019 and based at Centrium Square on Serangoon Road. It sells gold bars and coins and says it is a Singapore Bullion Market Association member and a licensed precious stones and precious metals dealer under the Ministry of Law. Its buyback service is built around in-person purity checks at the point of exchange, and it also deals in gold jewellery, reflecting its roots as a jewellery retailer as much as a dedicated bullion counter. It suits buyers near Little India or Farrer Park who want a neighbourhood shopfront rather than a Raffles Place or Marina Centre address, though its scale is smaller than the flagship dealers on this list.

10. Xin Bullion

Xin Bullion is a Singapore-registered precious metals dealer, active since 2019, that trades strictly online with orders placed through its website or over WhatsApp for delivery, rather than a walk-in shop. Its range covers standard gold and silver coins and bars from major mints and refiners, alongside a niche in older 'vintage' bars from refiners such as Engelhard and Heraeus that are no longer produced, and sealed bulk coin tubes it calls monster boxes. That mix makes it more relevant to collectors and investors hunting specific older bars or bulk coin lots than to someone wanting to browse a showroom in person. As with any online-only dealer, arrange payment and delivery through its own listed channels rather than a third-party marketplace listing.

11. Singapore Mint

The Singapore Mint has minted the country's circulation coins since 1968 and is now a Sembcorp Industries subsidiary, running three retail stores at Teban Gardens, Chinatown Point and Suntec City that mostly sell numismatic and commemorative coins and gifts. Its dedicated bullion line, Lion Bullion, sells 999.9 fine investment-grade gold bars that are exempt from GST, with the choice of home delivery, self-collection or storage in the mint's own vault. Buying through the Mint suits readers who want the reassurance of Singapore's original coin-making institution behind a bar. Its bullion range is narrower than the specialist dealers on this list, so it suits first-time buyers more than those assembling a large, varied holding.

How to choose

  • Check the dealer's registration before you buy. Singapore requires precious stones and metals dealers to register with the Ministry of Law under anti-money-laundering rules, and the Ministry publishes a public list of registered dealers and any suspended or cancelled registrations, which is worth checking directly rather than trusting a website's own badge or claim.
  • Understand what makes a bar or coin GST-exempt. Singapore only exempts gold of at least 99.5% purity, silver at least 99.9% and platinum at least 99%, in bar, ingot, wafer or specific coin form from an accredited refiner or mint - ask the dealer to confirm a specific product meets this before assuming it is tax-free.
  • Get buyback terms in writing, not as a verbal promise. Ask exactly who will buy the item back, whether it must be the same dealer, what condition or authentication it must pass, and how the price is set, and treat any promise of a fixed guaranteed return or bonus payout as a serious warning sign rather than a selling point.
  • Decide how you want to hold it before you buy. A bar collected and kept at home carries no storage fee but is your own security risk, while vaulted storage adds a running cost in exchange for insurance and, at some dealers, easier resale - compare what each option actually includes rather than assuming they are equivalent.
  • Check the metal, weight, purity and serial number on the invoice against the physical item before leaving the shop, and keep that paperwork - it is what a buyer, the dealer's own buyback desk or an insurer will ask for later. Prices move constantly, so always confirm the day's rate directly with the dealer rather than relying on a figure you saw earlier.
