Orchard Boulevard MRT (TE13) sits at the quiet, leafy western end of the Orchard belt, so the food here is hotel restaurants, Tanglin Mall and a couple of outlets inside Camden Medical Centre rather than hawker stalls. We list the halal-certified places first, then the rest by cuisine, each ordered by walking distance from the station. Halal status is checked against the official MUIS register.

Halal

J65

✓ MUIS halal-certified

The nearest sit-down meal to the station is a hotel buffet restaurant on the ground floor of Hotel Jen Tanglin. J65 runs a weekday lunch buffet, weekend high tea and themed seafood nights, with an open kitchen and prayer rooms on site. It was named Best Halal Buffet Restaurant at the 2024 RAS Epicurean Star Awards, according to the hotel. MUIS halal-certified.

Kebabs Faktory

✓ MUIS halal-certified

A quick counter-service stop in Tanglin Mall's basement, built around kebabs from many traditions rather than one. The mall describes Mexican, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Turkish and Indian styles, plus seasonal local twists and vegan, vegetarian and keto-friendly choices. Handy when the group cannot agree on a cuisine and wants something fast and filling. MUIS halal-certified.

Poke Theory

✓ MUIS halal-certified

A light, colourful option on the second level of Tanglin Mall, serving build-your-own poke bowls, acai bowls and cold-pressed juices in a minimalist white-and-grey space. It suits a lunch break or a post-errand snack when you would rather eat fresh and cold than sit down for a heavy meal. Poke Theory has several branches, but this one is the closest to the station. MUIS halal-certified.

Tarboush

✓ MUIS halal-certified

The longest walk in this guide, but the only place here for a full Lebanese and Arabic meal. Tarboush fills a large ground-floor space in Orchard Rendezvous Hotel with charcoal-grilled meats, mezze and mandi rice dishes, including a lamb-shank version, and has an outdoor section. The restaurant describes itself as Muslim-owned and fully halal, and it holds a MUIS certificate. MUIS halal-certified.

Chinese

Summer Palace

A formal Cantonese dining room on the third floor of Conrad Singapore Orchard, long associated with dim sum, roasts, soups and live seafood, plus a tea-focused drinks list. The Michelin Guide has listed it with a star in recent Singapore editions. It suits celebration lunches and business meals more than a quick bite, so book ahead. Not halal-certified.

Jiang-Nan Chun

Cantonese cooking at Four Seasons Hotel Singapore, with a communal table style that borrows from Hong Kong dining traditions. Japanese

Fat Cow

A wagyu-focused Japanese restaurant on the ground floor of Camden Medical Centre, right beside the station. Diners choose how their beef is cooked, whether shabu-shabu, sukiyaki or charcoal-grilled sumibiyaki, and there is a sake and wine list to match. It is a special-occasion spot rather than an everyday lunch, and reservations are sensible in the evening. Not halal-certified.

Local & Indonesian

Killiney Cafe

A small kopitiam-style outlet beside Fat Cow on the ground floor of Camden Medical Centre, serving kopi, kaya toast and other Singapore breakfast staples from a heritage brand that started on Killiney Road. The building lists it as open weekdays and Saturday mornings, closed on Sundays. It is the cheapest and quickest stop right at the station exit. Not MUIS-certified.

Tanamera Coffee

An Indonesian roastery-cafe that chose Tanglin Mall for its first Singapore outlet. The coffee is sourced from Indonesian farms and roasted by the company, and the kitchen adds a modern Indonesian food menu to go with it. It is a calm place to sit with a laptop or meet a neighbour between errands. Check the kitchen's closing time if you plan an afternoon visit. Not MUIS-certified.

Western & cafes

Pano Kato

A Greek and Mediterranean grill, pizzeria and deli run by the couple behind the House of AnLi homeware store, which sits upstairs; the name means upstairs-downstairs in Greek. Expect souvlaki, gyros and pizza in a bright rattan-and-white dining room, with gluten-free options on the menu. Recent guest reviews are mixed on consistency, so it is best for relaxed family meals. Not halal-certified.

Wine Connection Bistro

A wine-shop-and-restaurant hybrid on Tanglin Mall's first level, with a Mediterranean-leaning Western menu, a large wine list and both indoor and alfresco tables. It works for an after-work drink with sharing plates, or a relaxed weekend lunch when you want to sit outside. The bistro is one of a regional chain, and this Tanglin branch is the one nearest the MRT. Not halal-certified.

Basilico

An all-day Italian buffet on level two of Conrad Singapore Orchard, known for a cheese room, pizzas, handmade pasta and a carpaccio bar. Recent reviewers note the lunch buffet leans on Mediterranean seafood and seasonal produce, and that the full cheese selection is reserved for dinner and weekend brunch. Asian dishes are limited, so it suits those who want Italian. Not halal-certified.
