Changi Airport MRT opens right into a traveller's feast — Jewel Changi Airport and the public, landside floors of Terminals 1, 2 and 3, all a short sheltered walk from the platforms. Halal choice here is exceptionally deep, and almost all of it is MUIS-certified, so this guide puts halal first, ordered by walking distance: halal ramen and crispy chicken in the Terminal 3 basement, then Jewel's French rotisserie, Indonesian, Thai, seafood and charcoal-grill restaurants. After that it groups the rest by cuisine — the iconic Chinese names (chilli crab, bak kut teh, xiao long bao), Japanese and Korean, Western cafés and dessert. Halal status is checked against the official MUIS register.

Good to know

  • Changi Airport MRT (East-West line) sits underground between Terminals 2 and 3 and connects directly to both, to Jewel Changi Airport (about a 5-10 minute walk via the link bridges) and, through Jewel, to Terminal 1 (roughly 10 minutes). Terminal 3's Basement 2 food court and Terminal 2's dining are the closest, Jewel is the main event, and Terminal 1's landside Level 3 viewing mall is the furthest walk. Terminal 4 is not walkable from here — it needs the free inter-terminal shuttle bus.
  • Halal choice is a real strength, and almost all of it is MUIS-certified rather than merely Muslim-run. Jewel alone has dozens of certified outlets — French rotisserie at Poulet Bijou, Indonesian at Tambuah Mas, Thai at Sanook Kitchen, a charcoal grill at Elfuego, halal seafood at Sampanman — while the terminals add halal ramen (Ichikokudo in T3, Woke Ramen in T1's viewing mall), 4Fingers, Curry Times and PappaRich. Many certified chains dot the buildings too — A&W, KFC, McDonald's, Subway, Burger King, Texas Chicken, Popeyes, Old Chang Kee, Paris Baguette, Krispy Kreme, Cinnabon and more. Chain certification can vary by outlet, so check the certificate on display if it matters to you; note that one long-standing halal spot, Jinjja Chicken at Jewel, closed in early 2026.
  • Beyond halal, this is one of Singapore's densest eating spots, and Jewel is the draw: iconic local Chinese (JUMBO's chilli crab, Song Fa bak kut teh), Din Tai Fung, Michelin-recognised names like Tsuta ramen, Putien and Kam's Roast, Korean barbecue, cafés from PS.Cafe to %Arabica, Shake Shack, and a newer NY-style steakhouse from Coach. The revamped Food Republic food court on Jewel's Basement 2 reopened in July 2026 with heritage hawker and Michelin Bib Gourmand stalls (mostly not halal — several serve pork). The terminals lean local and cheap: Terminal 3's 24-hour Kopitiam food court on Basement 2 and Terminal 2's public Foodie's Clan canteen (daytime only) sit closest to the trains.
  • Everything in this guide is landside — no boarding pass needed — but note that much of Changi's food, including Terminal 1's SG Hawker food hall and most branded restaurants past immigration, is airside in the transit halls and only reachable if you're flying. Jewel and the terminal malls keep long hours and many outlets run late or 24/7, though the food courts and the Terminal 2 staff canteen close earlier. It's all sheltered and air-conditioned, so weather is a non-issue; airport F&B changes fast, so it's worth checking an outlet is still there before making a special trip.
