Students aiming for US universities usually meet two exams: the SAT, taken on an international test date, and Advanced Placement subject exams, which are held in May. Singapore has a small group of specialists that coach one or both. This guide lists six providers whose own sites describe SAT or AP preparation, noting which of them publish AP subject coaching and which stay with the SAT alone. Everything below is drawn from what each provider says about itself, so treat it as a starting point for your own questions. Check current batch dates, class sizes and the Digital SAT format directly with the provider, and compare at least two before you commit.

1. Princeton Review Singapore

Princeton Review Singapore runs its SAT and AP coaching from a Somerset centre and online. Its SAT page describes live group classes in small batches, a bootcamp-style crash format, weekend sessions, one-to-one tutoring and a self-paced option, with full-length mock tests built in. The site says its group classes are live with a trainer rather than recorded. A separate AP page lists subject areas such as calculus, physics, computer science, chemistry and psychology, taught one-to-one or in small groups, with mock exams and past-year papers. Its footer still shows a 2024 date even though the batches listed run into late 2026, so confirm the current schedule and class size by enquiry before paying a deposit or choosing between the in-person and online routes.

2. Prep Zone Academy

Prep Zone Academy describes itself as a test-preparation and admissions consultancy founded in 2006, with an Orchard office. Its site lists SAT preparation in group, individual and hybrid formats, and says classes can be taken online or, in limited slots, in person. Its separate AP page offers one-to-one tuition across a long subject list, including calculus, statistics, economics, psychology, biology, chemistry, physics, computer science and several languages, with regular mock exams and a performance report after each one. Prep Zone says it is registered with the Ministry of Education as a private school; that is its own statement. Its older site points to a second web address for up-to-date SAT details, so ask which schedule page is the current one.

3. Mindlab International

Mindlab International teaches from Far East Plaza and lists both SAT and AP routes on its own site. Its SAT page describes classes in person or online, with weekend and evening options, covering reading, writing, maths and the optional essay, plus timed full-length practice tests with feedback and a lesson plan tailored to each student. The AP page names Calculus AB, Calculus BC and Statistics, with practice exams and regular feedback from the tutor, and says a trial class can be booked. It is a narrower AP menu than some rivals, so it suits students whose AP subject is mathematical. Mindlab also appears on LocalRank's IGCSE and IB tutors guide for its separate programmes.

4. Icon Education (ICON+)

Icon Education says it was founded in 1999 and focuses on test preparation and admissions coaching. Its SAT page describes a diagnostic assessment, one-to-one coaching, test strategies, progress tracking and full-length practice tests with diagnostics, and positions the SAT alongside portfolio, personal statement and interview coaching as part of a wider admissions plan. It lists several Singapore offices, with its head office on Orchard Road, and asks visitors to make an appointment first. Its SAT page does not mention AP preparation, so this is a SAT-only option for our purposes. Students who want admissions support bundled with test coaching may like the approach; those after a single stand-alone course should ask exactly what is included.

5. Testtakers Singapore

Testtakers Singapore says it has operated here since 2001 and concentrates only on test preparation, with American-graduate instructors, according to its site. It lists SAT and ACT preparation as classroom programmes at a Bukit Timah Road classroom, an online Zoom SAT option and individual tutoring, and says classes average 10 to 12 students grouped by ability. Its schedules for the digital SAT are shown running through the December 2026 test date, although the page footer carries an old copyright year and a 2021 webinar is still featured, so check the current timetable. AP is not mentioned, making this a SAT and ACT choice. The site names email as the best way to reach the team.

6. Manhattan Review

Manhattan Review is an international test-prep company that publishes a dedicated Singapore SAT page. It lists an in-person classic class course, a live online equivalent, and private one-to-one tutoring and private courses, delivered in person or online. The page names a hotel on Orchard Road as the course venue and notes that staff are not normally present there, so students should email before turning up. Start dates are listed from October 2026 into early 2027. The company says it works with strong local tutors, which is its own claim. It does not describe AP preparation for Singapore, so it suits SAT candidates who want a structured class or a short private course from a well-known name.

How to choose

  • Decide whether you need SAT, AP or both before you shortlist. Only some providers here publish AP subject coaching; others stay with the SAT. If your school already teaches the AP syllabus, you may only need exam-technique sessions, so ask what each provider's AP coaching actually covers and which subjects it names.
  • Ask which version of the test the course is built around. The SAT is now taken digitally and adapts between modules, so a course should explain how it prepares students for that format. Look for full-length timed practice tests and a clear way of feeding results back into your lesson plan, as the provider describes them.
  • Compare class formats against your timetable. Group classes, small batches, one-to-one tutoring, hybrid plans and online-only courses all appear in this list. Ask how many students sit in a class, whether lessons are live or recorded, and what happens if you miss a session before choosing between them.
  • Work backwards from your test dates. International SAT dates and the May AP window set the deadline, and providers run batches on fixed calendars. Ask when the next batch starts, whether it finishes before your sitting, and whether a crash or bootcamp format exists if you are starting late.
  • Treat every promise as the provider's claim. Score improvements, admission outcomes and teacher credentials are marketing unless you can see evidence. Ask for a sample lesson or diagnostic, get the refund and make-up policies in writing, and speak to current families before you pay anything.
