A good deck has to survive Singapore's sun, downpours and humidity, so the material and the crew that lays it matter as much as the look. This guide gathers established specialists in outdoor decking in Singapore, spanning natural hardwoods such as chengal, balau and merbau and low-maintenance composite and WPC boards for balconies, patios, poolsides and gardens. Each was checked against its own website; treat it as a vetted shortlist, not a strict ranking.

1. Tulou

Tulou is a composite decking specialist that works with its own Tuwood and Culture board ranges and positions itself as the exclusive Singapore supplier of American-made TimberTech composite decking. It supplies and installs decking for balconies, patios, swimming pools and other outdoor areas, built on an aluminium substructure with four-sided capped boards. The company says its decking carries a 12-year promise against termites, decay, rot, splintering and warping, and cites more than 300 completed projects.

2. Nam Soon Timber

Nam Soon Timber pairs its Softline Merbau timber decking with an ENV-Shield WPC composite range and its own T-DECK system, and it also builds timber pergolas and fencing. It works as both a materials supplier and installer, taking on private balconies, swimming-pool decks and landscaped gardens through its own team. The company describes itself as established in 1986 with more than 40 years in the trade and offers a maintenance programme it calls TimberMedic+.

3. PolyDeck

PolyDeck focuses on composite timber (wood-plastic composite) decking and offers both supply and installation across residential and commercial settings, from garden decks, balconies and planter boxes to poolside areas, rooftop terraces and boardwalks. It says its boards are engineered for Singapore's hot, humid and rainy climate. The company describes itself as operating since 2007 and displays Singapore Green Label, SGBC and bizSAFE certifications, with a product showcase in Ubi.

4. Good Wood Carpentry

Good Wood Carpentry offers a full range of timber decking species (chengal, Burmese teak, balau and merbau) alongside a wood-plastic composite option. It provides a complete supply-and-install service that includes the timber support structure, the planks and a coloured varnish top coat for outdoor balconies, patios and gardens. The company presents itself as a wood-industry specialist focused on bespoke, machined timber for each decking project.

5. Goodhill Enterprise

Goodhill Enterprise supplies and installs both composite decking, under its DuraDeck Ultra Embossed and DuraDeck Apex lines, and natural timber decking for balconies, patios, poolsides and gardens. It runs an end-to-end service from site measurement to installation and says it fields a team of more than 20 installers. The long-established firm, which says it was incorporated in 1973, describes its DuraDeck line as a Singapore Green Building Council-recognised product and guarantees its product quality and workmanship.

6. Hue Landscape

Hue Landscape designs, supplies and installs both composite decking and natural chengal timber decking for balconies, patios, gardens, rooftops, swimming pools and commercial outdoor spaces. As a landscaping firm, it can pair decking with turfing, planting and wider garden work, and it uses a concealed fastening system over a built-up substructure. The company describes itself as an NParks- and BCA-accredited contractor and offers post-installation timber-deck maintenance.

7. Ager Flooring

Ager Flooring is a timber decking contractor that works with tropical hardwoods including chengal, ironwood, merbau and yellow balau, chosen to suit the local climate. It handles on-site measurement, installation and maintenance for both indoor and outdoor decking. Rather than a warranty, the company publishes expected service lives by species, saying, for example, that merbau can last decades when properly treated and maintained.

8. Forest Road

Forest Road is a solid-timber specialist whose outdoor decking uses hardwoods such as chengal, ironwood, IPE, Burmese teak and balau, and it also offers a wood-plastic composite option. The same workshop supplies timber cladding, screens, ceilings, staircases and custom carpentry, so decking can be matched to other timber finishes. It cites commercial project experience, including a project at Marina Bay Sands.

9. The Galaxy Floor

The Galaxy Floor installs composite, WPC and natural timber decking for patios, poolsides, balconies, gardens, rooftops and walkways across homes and commercial premises, and can add matching railings and fencing. Beyond decking it also lays vinyl, engineered wood and parquet flooring. The company advertises a 10-year product warranty plus separate workmanship coverage and describes its decking as Singapore Green Label certified.

10. DW Decking

DW Decking is an outdoor decking specialist covering composite and WPC boards, including branded Hidecki and DuraDeck materials, as well as natural chengal and balau timber. It supplies and installs balcony, floor and outdoor decking and also handles deck replacement, repair and varnishing. The company runs without a showroom, working through WhatsApp and phone enquiries, and describes itself as a one-stop decking service.

How to choose

  • Match the material to the spot: dense tropical hardwoods like chengal, balau and merbau age to a natural silver-grey and need periodic oiling, while composite and WPC boards usually cost more up front but resist rot, termites and fading with little upkeep.
  • Ask what goes under the boards, not just the boards themselves: the joists, substructure and fixings decide how a deck copes with rain, so look for treated-hardwood or aluminium joists, stainless-steel or concealed fixings, and enough ventilation and fall for water to drain away.
  • Get any warranty in writing and separate the product warranty from the workmanship warranty, since a long board warranty means little if the installation is not covered; confirm what voids it and who honours it.
  • Check whether the contractor supplies and installs with its own crew or subcontracts the labour, and ask to see photos of, or visit, past outdoor projects that have weathered a few Singapore monsoons.
  • For balconies and rooftops, confirm the deck can be lifted for cleaning and drainage access so it will not trap water against the waterproofing membrane, and check any condo or MCST rules before work begins.
