Java still runs a large share of enterprise back-ends, banking systems and Android apps, which is why Singapore training providers keep running classes in it. This list covers seven providers that run Java programming courses for adults here, from short beginner workshops to a full-time university-run web applications certificate. Entries reflect what each provider's own page describes: core language, Oracle exam-style progression, Spring and full-stack work. Read the outline against your goal. Check each linked course page for current dates, entry requirements and which funding schemes apply to you, because intakes and subsidies change and nothing here is a promise of subsidy.

1. NTUC LearningHub

NTUC LearningHub lists Java in two stages on its own course pages. Fundamentals of Java Programming is described as a 40-hour live online class on Zoom, taught on Java 11, covering variables, arrays, loops, object-oriented basics, methods, encapsulation and exception handling. A follow-on Intermediate Java Programming course is listed at 40 hours, by Zoom or in a physical class, covering lambdas and streams, modules, collections, JDBC and JPA, multithreading and NIO.2. The pages say the two courses prepare learners for Oracle's Java SE programmer exams, with the exam voucher bought separately. Its Fundamentals page names SkillsFuture Credit and UTAP among funding routes, and the Intermediate page cites SWDA Tier 1 funding for eligible participants. Confirm intake dates with the provider.

2. NUS-ISS (Digital Solutions Development - Web Applications)

NUS-ISS publishes a Certificate in Digital Solutions Development - Web Applications that puts Java inside a wider full-stack curriculum. Its course page describes a 30-day full-time schedule held in person at the institute, running from software development fundamentals through to enterprise web work. The syllabus it prints starts with Java programming, object-oriented concepts and SQL, then moves to Spring Boot, Spring MVC, REST, Thymeleaf and ReactJS, with cloud deployment on Google Cloud and Kubernetes. A third block introduces big data tools such as Scala and Databricks. The page frames the course for people building Java web solutions in an enterprise setting who already have basic IT knowledge. Check the course page for current fees, intake dates and any funding it names.

3. Eversafe Academy

Eversafe Academy is better known for workplace safety training, but its site carries a Certificate in Full Stack Java that is a genuine Java option for career changers. The course page describes a 144-hour programme taught face to face in English at one of several Singapore venues, with Little India among those it names. Back-end topics listed are core Java, SQL Server, JDBC, Servlets, JSP and the Spring Framework, alongside HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery and Bootstrap on the front end. Note that it names Spring Framework rather than Spring Boot. The page lists SkillsFuture funding, the Mid-career Enhanced Subsidy, SME-sponsored support and NTUC UTAP as routes, and sets minimum entry requirements. Verify the current schedule directly.

4. NobleProg Singapore

NobleProg's Singapore site is the widest Java menu on this list, though it is pitched mainly at developers and company teams rather than first-time learners. Its Java training page lists more than twenty courses, including Java Fundamentals and Java Advanced at 28 hours each, a Java 21 course at 21 hours and a 14-hour Spring Boot course. Spring pages add a 21-hour Java Microservices course and a 14-hour Spring Boot, React and Redux course. Delivery is online live training or onsite training, and its Spring Boot page names classroom venues in the Asia Square and Frasers Tower area. The pages we read name no SkillsFuture-type scheme, so ask about funding before enrolling. Pricing and dates are on the provider's listings.

5. BELLS Tech (SCTP Full Stack Developer)

BELLS Tech runs a SkillsFuture Career Transition Programme in full-stack development that includes a Java module, so it suits mid-career switchers who want a structured path rather than a standalone Java class. The programme page describes 231.5 hours over six months, part-time, in a face-to-face classroom at its International Plaza centre, with weekday evening sessions plus Saturdays. Its curriculum lists Java Programming for Developers, covering application development with libraries and APIs, GUI creation and object-oriented principles; the page we read does not mention Spring Boot. It cites SCTP course-fee subsidies for eligible Singapore Citizens and PRs and says SkillsFuture Credit can apply. Confirm eligibility and intake dates with BELLS Tech before planning around the course.

6. Intellisoft Systems

Intellisoft Systems offers a four-day Java Programming class at its Fortune Centre training venue, which its site places near Bencoolen, Bugis and Bras Basah MRT stations. The outline on its page runs day by day: object-oriented fundamentals, variables and arrays on day one; classes, interfaces, inheritance and exception handling on day two; Swing-based GUI design and event handling on day three; and I/O streams, threading, networking and JDBC on day four. The provider says no prior Java knowledge is needed and that laptops are supplied. Its funding section names SDF for company-sponsored staff, SkillsFuture Credit for eligible Singaporeans aged 25 and above, and UTAP for NTUC members. The outline does not include Spring.

7. Inspizone Academy

Inspizone Academy runs a Java Programming Certification Training Course that its page aims squarely at people with no programming background. The listing describes three days, 21 hours in total, from 9:30am to 5:30pm, held at its International Plaza premises on Anson Road. Five lessons are listed: programming concepts and the software development lifecycle; variables, operators, program control and arrays; creating and calling methods; object-oriented ideas including classes, objects, constructors and subclasses; and handling syntax, logical and runtime errors. The page sets a minimum age of 16, expects basic computer skills and requires 75 percent attendance for the completion certificate. It is a starter course, so look elsewhere for Spring or exam preparation.

How to choose

  • Decide your destination first. A first-time learner needs a core-language class, while someone aiming for back-end jobs needs Spring and database work. Compare each provider's printed outline against that goal, and treat any course that stops at object-oriented basics, as several here do, as a starting step rather than a job-ready programme.
  • Match the pace to your life. Short classes of three to five days suit people who can take leave, while evening and Saturday schedules such as BELLS Tech's SCTP programme stretch over months. Full-time options like the NUS-ISS certificate demand a block of weeks, so check the listed hours and schedule before committing.
  • Look at which Java version and framework the outline names. Some pages mention Java 11 or Java 21, others describe Swing or Servlets and JSP. Older topics still teach fundamentals, but if your target employers use Spring Boot, prefer a syllabus that names it explicitly and asks you to build a working service.
  • Ask about funding on the provider's own page, not on assumption. Schemes such as SkillsFuture Credit, UTAP, SCTP and the Mid-career Enhanced Subsidy each have eligibility rules around age, citizenship and employment. A provider naming a scheme does not guarantee you qualify, so confirm the net cost in writing before paying.
  • If an Oracle certificate matters, read exactly what the course says it prepares you for. NTUC LearningHub's pages mention Java SE programmer exams, but the exam voucher is bought separately and passing is your responsibility. Check which Java version the current exam covers, and ask whether a practice assessment is included before relying on the class alone.
