AI image by LocalRankWhen a factory pump, lift, fan or workshop machine stops because its motor has failed, the choice is usually between replacing the unit and sending it for repair or rewinding. This guide lists seven Singapore workshops that publish motor rewinding or repair on their own websites, from small independent shops to larger industrial service centres. We describe only what each firm says about its services, tests and capacity, and we attribute its claims to it rather than vouching for them. Use the list to shortlist workshops that match your motor type, size and voltage, then contact two or three for inspection findings before deciding.
1. Maintech Engineering & Supplies (MES)
Maintech Engineering & Supplies describes its motor and generator service as covering rewinding, repair, overhaul and upgrading of AC and DC machines, including small motors and armatures. Its page also lists vacuum and pressure impregnation, stator core repair and explosion-proof motor overhauling, plus electrical tests such as high-potential, tangent-delta, partial-discharge, EL-CID core and load testing. Beyond the workshop, it lists on-site work including vibration and motor current signature analysis, laser alignment, and dismantling or installation of equipment. The company states that it is an authorised service workshop for a number of motor and generator manufacturers, naming Siemens and Baldor as examples. That is its own wording, so ask which brands apply to your machine. New requests go through the quote form on its website.

2. Megawatts Engineering Services
Megawatts Engineering Services runs an electrical workshop and a separate rotating machinery workshop in the Kian Teck area. On its rotating machinery page it says it can overhaul and rewind large AC and DC motors and generators, as well as traction motors and transformers, and it lists vacuum pressure impregnation for high-voltage windings. The same page mentions dynamic balancing, shaft and white-metal bearing repair, laser alignment, on-site vibration analysis and load testing. The firm states that it meets ISO 9001, ISO 45001 and IECEx service standard requirements and names authorised service roles for several brands. Treat these as its own statements and ask for the details that apply to your job. Its website offers an enquiry form for new requests.

3. RPM Electrical Engineering
RPM Electrical Engineering says it rewinds and overhauls electric motors and generators from a workshop in the Tuas area, with a second workshop in Joo Koon. Its site lists AC and DC motors, generators, submersible pumps, crane motors and transformers, and describes three-phase free-running tests after rewinding. It also describes dynamic balancing of rotors, armatures, impellers and fans to ISO 1940 tolerances, surge and hi-pot testing, and machining of shafts, end shields and bearing housings. The company says it collects and delivers across Singapore and describes itself as an authorised stockist for Nidec Leroy-Somer motors. It also states ISO 9001:2015 certification and BizSafe STAR accreditation on its own site, which are claims worth confirming with the issuing bodies.
4. Cyclect Group
Cyclect Group lists a motor and generator workshop in Tuas that, according to its site, handles rewinding, coil work, vacuum pressure impregnation, rotor and stator inspection, bearing replacement, balancing, machining and controlled electrical testing. Its page covers low, medium and high-voltage motors, alternators and generators, and it also describes in-situ rewinding for equipment that is hard to move. Marine and industrial plants are its stated focus, so the messaging leans towards larger overhauls and shutdowns, but the site invites project discussions through an enquiry route. Certifications shown on its page include ISO 9001, IEC 60079-19 and IECEx; these are the company's own statements, so ask for the scope of each and check it with the issuing body.
5. Tektronz
Tektronz is a general engineering company, and its motor repair page lists servo motor repair, induction motor terminal repair, motor overhauling and AC and DC motor rewinding for various types and sizes. The same page mentions bearing replacement, shaft repair and gearbox motor repair, and it presents repair as an alternative to replacing a motor. Because the company also lists electrical system design, industrial automation and equipment maintenance, it may suit buyers who prefer one contractor for both the motor and the system around it. Its office is in the Pioneer area, and the website says visitors can walk in during office hours or reach the team by email or a WhatsApp button. Its listed quality points are the company's own claims.

6. SNR Engineering Services
SNR Engineering Services describes rewinding and repair of low and high-voltage AC motors and generators, plus DC shunt, series and traction motors. Its rewinding page says high-voltage coils are wound in a controlled room and sets out AC and DC test sequences, with results included in service reports. It states in-house capacity from a fraction up to 15MW. The site also lists dynamic balancing, laser alignment, on-site hi-pot testing and a 24/7 service line. SNR says it is a WEG Authorized Service Center for low-voltage AC motors, an EASA member and an IECEx and ATEX certified service facility. Those are its statements, and the copyright notice on the pages we read says 2022, so confirm it is currently taking work.
7. S&K Electrical Engineering
S&K Electrical Engineering is a Woodlands motor repair business whose site lists motor inspection, rewinding and overhaul. It says it rewinds stator and rotor coils for motors from 0.1kW to 300kW, covering induction, servo, stepper, pump, compressor and spindle motors, plus generator coils and transformers. The overhaul work it lists includes bearing replacement, oil and mechanical seal renewal, balancing and alignment, bearing-housing machining, rotor shaft renewal and carbon brush renewal. The site advertises free pickup and delivery across Singapore. It reads as a small independent workshop, which may suit single motors and smaller plant. The most recent dated item we found on its site is a 2024 blog post, so call to confirm before sending a motor.

How to choose
- Match the workshop to the machine. Note the motor's kilowatt rating, voltage, AC or DC type and frame before you call, then compare those details with the capacity each firm publishes. Small independent shops and larger industrial service centres both appear here, and the right one depends on the size and duty of your motor.
- Ask what testing happens before and after rewinding. Firms describe things like surge, hi-pot, insulation resistance, load or free-running tests and dynamic balancing. Ask which tests apply to your motor and whether you receive a written report, so you can compare like with like between workshops.
- Request an inspection finding and a written quote before authorising work. A good workshop can explain whether the fault is in the windings, bearings, shaft or elsewhere, and whether repair or replacement makes more sense. Compare scope, expected turnaround and any warranty in writing rather than relying on website headlines.
- Treat certifications and manufacturer authorisations as claims to verify. Several firms here state ISO, IECEx, ATEX or brand-authorised status in their own words. Ask for the certificate or scope, check it with the issuing body, and confirm it covers the type of motor and location you need serviced.
- Check logistics and urgency. Some workshops list collection and delivery, on-site service or round-the-clock lines, while others expect you to bring the motor in. If downtime is costly, ask about breakdown response, spare parts and how they handle explosion-proof or hazardous-area equipment if that applies to you.
