Commercial Refrigeration Suppliers: a customer and a provider in a bright, modern settingAI image by LocalRank

Opening a cafe, bakery, mini-mart or central kitchen usually means sorting out cold storage first: a walk-in room, a row of upright chillers or a display cabinet that shows off the cakes. This list covers seven Singapore suppliers of commercial refrigeration, from cold room builders to sellers of display chillers and freezers. It is about equipment for businesses, so it leaves out home fridge repair, chiller plant maintenance and cold-chain logistics, which have their own LocalRank pages. Each entry summarises what the company's own website says it offers, so read those descriptions as the supplier's claims, and use the choosing tips at the end to compare quotes on the same footing.

1. Kiat Lay Coldroom Specialist

Kiat Lay Coldroom Specialist says it has been building cold rooms in Singapore since 1982. Its site lists walk-in rooms, custom rooms, industrial rooms for multi-storey factories and rooms for automated storage and retrieval warehouses, plus repair and maintenance. The walk-in page describes chiller and freezer rooms built with insulated panels, a choice between integrated refrigeration and remote condensing units, and door options such as hinged, sliding or high-speed. It sets out a five-stage process running from site assessment through design, installation and commissioning to handover, with maintenance contracts quoted separately. The company names food and beverage, logistics, retail, pharmaceutical and hospitality among its sectors. Enquiries go through a contact page, email, phone or a WhatsApp link, which suits permanent room projects.

2. Ventco Engineering

Ventco Engineering (S) Pte Ltd describes itself as a refrigeration engineering company specialising in the design, supply and installation of cold rooms, and says it was established in 1986. Its homepage tagline offers a one-stop solution to cold rooms and wine cellars, and its services list names modular walk-in coldrooms, chilled water units, refrigeration racks, air-cooled condensing units and wine cellars. The site shows an image gallery of past projects and publishes an enquiry email, two office phone lines, a contact page and a WhatsApp link. The company works from an industrial building in Woodlands. Its pages name the product families rather than giving detailed specifications, so ask for room size, temperature range and condensing unit arrangement in writing when you request a quotation.

3. Alpha Celsius

Alpha Celsius Pte Ltd calls itself a specialist in designing, supplying, installing and maintaining industrial cold room systems, and says it was founded in 1993. Its site lists walk-in freezer and cold rooms, custom rooms, industrial rooms for food facilities, pharmaceutical firms, logistics and warehouses, and rooms for automated storage and retrieval systems, plus repair pages. It describes serving small businesses through to large commercial facilities and names seafood, meat, dairy and vegetable storage among its food uses. The walk-in page does not state specific temperatures, so ask each quotation to spell out the target temperature for the stock you plan to hold. Enquiries can go through a contact page, an email address or the office phone lines, and the office is in Woodlands.

4. Cold Chain Refrigeration

Cold Chain Refrigeration Pte Ltd presents itself as a cold room specialist and contractor, offering custom cold room design and build, commercial refrigeration installation and maintenance, and what it calls 24/7 service and maintenance. Its homepage also lists CO2 refrigeration and low-GWP solutions, and the supply and installation of compressors, condensers, evaporators, control panels and accessories. A products page names cold room door locks, LED lighting for cold rooms and evaporator heater belts, so it may also suit a business that only needs parts or fittings for an existing room. The site shows Monday to Saturday office hours, a general sales email, a main phone line that doubles as a WhatsApp number and a separate emergency repair line. The office is in the Ubi area.

5. Singmah Steel Refrigeration

Singmah Steel Refrigeration Pte Ltd is a food-service equipment supplier whose site covers commercial refrigeration, cooking equipment, foodservice equipment, bakery machinery and stainless steel fabrication. Its refrigeration menu lists display, upright, counter and chest freezer ranges, along with shock freezers, ice machines, salad and pizza counters, table-top displays, showcases and ice cream units. The company says it has been a pioneer in Singapore's food and beverage industry since 2003, and it promises responsive after-sales service, spare parts and preventive and corrective maintenance. A homepage banner mentions grant support subject to terms and conditions, so confirm it with the grant agency. The site publishes a contact page, two email addresses, a phone line and a WhatsApp number, with its address in the Ubi area.

6. Superior Kitchen Equipment

Superior Kitchen Equipment describes itself as a specialist in kitchen equipment in Singapore. Its online store has a refrigerators, chiller and freezer collection that includes items such as a four-door combination chiller and freezer, alongside induction cookers, hotplates, ovens, fryers, bakeware, dough mixers, stainless steel tables and food warmer displays. That makes it a one-stop option for a small outlet that wants a chiller plus the rest of its basic kitchen kit. The site invites customers to visit at NorthSpring Biz Hub in Yishun and publishes a WhatsApp number and an email address for enquiries. It shows no separate contact page and no phone line other than the WhatsApp link, so confirm delivery and warranty terms directly with the seller before ordering.

7. K&Q Fatt (KQF)

K&Q Fatt, branded KQF, is a Singapore refrigeration supplier whose site lists display chillers, including cake display, glass-door and open-case styles, chest freezers, undercounter fridges and freezers, and walk-in coolers and cold rooms. It also has cafe, cake and pastry, and supermarket series pages. The site names brands including Yuda, Kinco, Fukushima Galilei, Kerry and Smeg, says it supplies and installs new or reconditioned cold rooms, and describes repair, installation and maintenance services, including dismantling of walk-in chillers. It says it has 30 years of experience and publishes a manufacturing-defect warranty, which you should read in full before buying. Enquiries go through a contact page, email, phone or WhatsApp, and the office is in the Gul Circle industrial area of Tuas.

How to choose

  • Decide the product type before you request quotes. A walk-in room, upright or undercounter chillers, chest freezers and glass-front display cabinets solve different problems, and suppliers on this list lean towards different ones. Write down what you will store, how much, and whether customers need to see it, so every quote covers the same job.
  • Ask each supplier to state the target temperature in writing for the exact stock you plan to hold, whether that is dairy, cakes, raw meat or frozen stock. Chiller and freezer rooms are built differently, and a vague promise of cold is not a specification you can later hold anyone to.
  • Find out who installs, who services and who keeps spare parts. Some suppliers here sell units and rely on others for fitting, while cold room builders handle design through commissioning. Ask who answers a breakdown call, whether maintenance is a separate contract, and treat any round-the-clock claim as the supplier's wording until confirmed.
  • Prepare the site before the visit. Cold rooms and large cabinets need floor space, power capacity, ventilation, a sensible place for condensing units and a clear route for delivery. Ask the supplier to survey the site, and note that landlord or management rules may limit noise, drainage or where equipment can go.
  • Compare like with like. Check whether a unit is new or reconditioned, what the warranty covers and who honours it, what is included in installation, and how grant or support claims are explained. Ask what approvals the company holds for the work and request the paperwork, rather than taking a banner or tagline on trust.
