AI image by LocalRankChoosing accounting software is a different decision from hiring an accountant. This page looks at the programs themselves: cloud bookkeeping tools and fuller systems that handle stock and reporting. Every entry below comes from what the vendor or its Singapore partner publishes on its own website in 2026, so features are attributed rather than verified by us. Some suit a one-person shop, others a growing company with inventory. Before you commit, check how each product handles GST returns and InvoiceNow, which not every vendor page explains, and ask for a trial or demo with your own bank statements. Our separate guides to accounting firms and InvoiceNow providers cover the services around the software.
1. Xero
Xero's Singapore site presents cloud accounting built around invoicing, bank reconciliation and bill payments. According to its page, customers can send invoices and quotes by email, SMS or WhatsApp, accept online payments, and claim expenses with mileage tracking. It also lists payroll, project tracking, fixed asset management and corporate tax filing, along with an AI assistant called JAX and connections to more than a thousand apps. The company shows Starter, Standard and Premium plans, so a business can begin small and step up later. The page we read does not mention GST or InvoiceNow, so ask Xero or your adviser how those are handled before committing. It suits owners who want a widely used ledger with a large app ecosystem around it.

2. QuickBooks Singapore
Intuit's QuickBooks Singapore page describes online accounting aimed at small businesses that want invoicing and day-to-day bookkeeping in one place. It says invoices can be paid online and can be generated from photos, PDFs and forwarded emails, and it lists bank connections and bank feeds for reconciling transactions. Payroll is described as syncing with the accounting and time-tracking features, and the page also mentions online tax submission with error checking. It publishes a Singapore sales telephone line for enquiries. The page we read does not name GST features or InvoiceNow, so confirm both directly before relying on it for Singapore filings. This one suits a business owner who prefers a well-known international name and wants receipts and bills captured with less typing.

3. Zoho Books
Zoho's Singapore page for Zoho Books puts GST first. It says the software generates F5 returns, manages GST sales and purchase transactions, and automatically selects rates and codes for Singapore compliance. Beyond tax, the page lists quotes, invoicing, bills, purchase orders, projects, expense tracking, multi-currency transactions, workflow automation and mobile and desktop apps. Inventory is covered too, with stock updating as purchases and sales are recorded, plus reorder points and vendor reminders. Bank feeds are matched against transactions to speed up reconciliation. The page does not mention InvoiceNow, so ask Zoho about it if you need it, and it shows a Singapore support line and email for questions. A fit for small traders who want GST handling and light stock control in one subscription.

4. AutoCount Singapore
AutoCount's Singapore website lists a family of products rather than a single program: Accounting 2.0, POS 5.0, an HRMS module for payroll, Cloud Accounting, On The Go for mobile use, Seamless e-Filing and an InvoiceNow offering. Its homepage states that the GST InvoiceNow feature is free of charge for GST-registered businesses within a stated period, subject to its terms and conditions, which is worth reading closely. The Malaysian parent describes general ledger, receivables, payables, inventory and multi-currency modules, and the Singapore office publishes its own sales email, phone and WhatsApp contacts. This suits a trading or retail business that expects to add point-of-sale or payroll later and wants everything from one vendor with a local office.

5. SQL Account Singapore (Apscom Solutions)
Apscom Solutions runs the SQL Account Singapore website and presents itself as the appointed partner providing implementation and support for the SQL Account package locally. Its pages describe the software as giving a real-time view of cash flow for small and medium enterprises, with inventory tracking, data security and a technical support team, and list SQL Account, SQL Cloud Hosting and SQL eCommerce as products. The site says the software is a pre-approved solution under the IMDA Go Digital programme and that grant support may be available, which readers should confirm with the relevant agency. An e-invoicing section links to InvoiceNow. It suits a company that wants installed, locally supported accounting software and a named team to help set it up.

6. AI Account
AI Account is cloud accounting software from a Singapore-registered company, and its site says it serves accounting firms in Singapore as well as businesses of all sizes. The feature list is broad: transactions, banking and cash, inventory, fixed assets and projects, tax and compliance, reporting, consolidation, year-end, e-invoicing and multi-currency. It also describes an AI engine, an agent that posts entries, bank automation, and tools for importing and migrating data. A tax codes and GST configuration section shows Singapore GST is covered, although the page does not name InvoiceNow. It publishes an email address and phone number for enquiries. This suits a business, or its accountant, that wants a newer cloud platform with automation features and does not mind asking about e-invoicing details first.

7. HashMicro
HashMicro is a regional business software vendor with a Singapore contact line, and its accounting module sits inside a wider ERP rather than a standalone bookkeeping app. A page on its site, dated 2026, lists asset tracking with depreciation, budgeting, cash flow statements, financial ratios, multi-level analysis and bank integration with automatic reconciliation. It states that its e-invoices connect with IRAS for tax reporting, and says users are unlimited at no extra cost, though that article is written by HashMicro itself and says the system may be too complex for very simple needs. It publishes an enquiries email, phone and WhatsApp number. This suits a growing company that expects to link accounting with sales, stock and other departments, not a sole proprietor.

How to choose
- Decide whether you need bookkeeping software or a fuller system. A freelancer or small shop may need only invoices, bills and bank reconciliation, while a trading business may want stock control, point-of-sale or payroll. Write down the three tasks you repeat weekly and test each vendor's trial or demo against exactly those tasks.
- Ask each vendor, in writing, how its product handles GST returns and InvoiceNow. Several vendor pages we read describe general invoicing features without naming either. If your business is GST-registered, request a demonstration of a return being prepared from your own sample transactions before you pay for anything.
- Check who supports you in Singapore. Some products are sold directly with a local sales or support line, while others are supplied through a partner or an overseas parent. Look for published phone, email or WhatsApp contacts, and ask about support hours, time zone and how migration from your old records works.
- Think about your accountant. Many accounting firms already work in one or two packages, and using the same one makes year-end easier. Ask your accountant or company secretary which software they prefer and whether they can view your ledger directly, before you commit to a platform they cannot use.
- Plan for growth and exit. Ask what happens when you add users, entities, currencies or inventory, how much data you can export, and in which format. A cheaper tool that traps your records can cost more later, so test an export during the trial period.
