About Ninja Van
Ninja Van is a logistics company headquartered in Singapore. It began in 2014, when three friends, Lai Chang Wen, Shaun Chong and Tan Boxian, set out to support their own fashion line and started with one second-hand van. From that start the company expanded beyond Singapore into the rest of Southeast Asia. Today Ninja Van says it operates in six of the region's key markets: Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Vietnam, the Philippines and Thailand.
The company's stated purpose is to provide quality logistics solutions to e-commerce businesses across the region. That focus shows in how its services are built: parcel collection and delivery sit at the centre, with warehousing, cold chain, freight and cross-border options layered around them so that a seller can start small and add capability as the business grows.
Figures on this page, such as shipper numbers and daily parcel volumes, are published by Ninja Van on its own website and have not been independently audited by LocalRank.
Scale and reach
Ninja Van describes itself as a leading logistics partner in Southeast Asia, with established operations and networks in all six of its markets. On its About page the company states that it is trusted by nearly two million shippers, delivers around two million parcels a day and reaches more than 120 million customers, supported by over 66,000 staff and delivery personnel. For a business choosing a courier, those numbers matter less as bragging rights than as a signal that a provider has the infrastructure to cope with peak periods such as sale campaigns and year-end shopping.
Within Singapore the network is complemented by Ninja Points, a set of pick-up and drop-off locations that the company puts at more than 800 across the island, including partner retail outlets such as 7-Eleven. Senders can drop a parcel off instead of waiting at home for a collection, and recipients can collect from a point using a code sent by SMS or email. Standard points accept parcels under 5 kg, while selected locations take larger items of up to 30 kg.
What Ninja Van offers
The service range is wider than the "courier" label suggests. The main lines Ninja Van lists for Singapore businesses are set out in the services table below: parcel delivery for online sellers, Ninja Flexi for ad-hoc sending, NinjaCold for temperature-controlled goods, and fulfilment and warehousing through partner warehouses.
Beyond these, Ninja Van also lists B2B restocking for retailers, international parcel delivery to 44 countries, and freight forwarding by air, sea, truck and rail, together with customs-clearance support and contract logistics for larger supply chains. Having these under one provider is the practical appeal: a seller that begins with a few parcels a week can later move stock into a warehouse, ship abroad or add cold-chain products without changing partners.
Who it works with
Ninja Van segments its offer by the size of the business. Its website has separate pages for social sellers, small and medium businesses, and enterprises, and its fulfilment service offers custom integrations through the company's technical team. Singapore brands featured on the company's own site include MGP Label, Caramel Monster and Mod Parade.
Founders and leadership
The company is still led by its three founders. Lai Chang Wen is co-founder and chief executive, Shaun Chong is co-founder and chief technology officer, and Tan Boxian is co-founder and chief product officer. Ninja Van calls itself a tech-driven company, and the founders' roles reflect it: two of the three lead technology and product. In the company's own words, it is "constantly working with new technologies to improve our systems".
Certifications and responsibility
Ninja Van states that it has held ISO/IEC 27001 information-security certification since February 2024, which is relevant to any business handing over customer names, addresses and contact details with every parcel. The company also reports being certified as a Great Place to Work in Singapore (September 2022) and treats sustainability as a business pillar from 2022. Its published priorities are measuring its carbon emissions, exploring electric vehicles and cleaner fuels, cutting single-use plastics in warehouses, and training drivers in safety and defensive driving. Ninja Van is open that this work is still in progress and does not publish carbon-reduction targets.
Operating since 2014.
